Leadership Team

Rory T. Poole

President & CEO

Fresh out of college with a degree in forestry, Rory Poole knew he wanted to work with his hands and somehow be connected to wood. At a young age, he ran a sawmill in Kentucky and then worked as a surveyor with the U.S. Forestry Service.

In the mid 80s, Rory relocated to New England and joined Champlin Box Company, located in Hartford’s west end, as a scheduler. He never imagined he would one day own the multi-million dollar company, which creates large-scale custom boxes for aerospace and manufacturing businesses across the Northeast.

More than 30 years later, Rory not only owns and operates Champlin-Packrite, Inc., but he has expanded his entrepreneurial portfolio to include two additional companies, iHUB Packaging & Logistics and American Alternatives, which creates flexible and sustainable corrugated alternatives to wood/box pallet systems.

Recognizing the need for greater inventory control and maintenance, Rory recently opened iHUB in the former Gerber Scientific building, occupying more than 100,000 square feet of usable space on a hilltop in Manchester.

Rory believes his innovative ideas can transform the packaging and shipping industry. He is determined to replace (where applicable) cumbersome and bulky wood pallets with 100% recyclable corrugated pallets with his unique runner system. The unique and flexible pallet system is currently being used by some of Champlin’s largest customers.

Rory is a member of the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) and the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). His company has also been active in the Parkville Neighborhood Association, where the manufacturing plant is located. A resident of Western Massachusetts, Rory has two grown children, Sean and Bonnie, with his wife, Christine.
